EUI Community Joins National Strike in Solidarity with Humanitarian Causes

On Friday, 3 October, more than 120 EUI members participated in the national strike, joining the march and demonstration in Florence to express solidarity with those most affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Carrying a strong humanitarian message, the demonstration highlighted the EUI community’s collective commitment to human rights, dignity, and justice. By standing together, participants sent a powerful signal that the EUI is actively engaged in matters of social responsibility and global concern.

This action also brought visibility to the Institute as a place of openness, solidarity, and civic engagement. The event demonstrated the effectiveness of the updated Framework Agreement between the EUI and the US-IUE, signed in April 2025, which enabled swift and respectful coordination between both parties.

Coverage of the demonstration, including the participation of EUI members and with interventions of US-IUE President Sarah Bernstein and Simona Isidori, was featured by TGR Toscana (watch from minute 12:10).

The US-IUE Executive Board expressed its gratitude to all participants for their engagement and for reaffirming the community’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian values and solidarity with those affected by conflicts worldwide.
