General Strike: Statement of Solidarity with the Italian Trade Unions

We members of the US-IUE, stand in solidarity with those who are participating in the upcoming general strikes on 28th November and 12th December 2025. These strikes aim to address key concerns regarding public service contracts and major public service budget cuts set for 2026 in Italy; addressing issues which affect workers across all public sectors in Italy and impact public services such as schools, universities and public health services.

Although these issues do not impact our organisation directly, we are declaring our support for those who are affected. We affirm our commitment to support other unions, recognising that collective action gives us voice and is essential in progressing shared objectives.
