International Women’s Day event : Women in the Media (organized by IPSO)
This webinar event celebrates women in the media for International Women’s Day. In discussion will be Pamela Morinière and Sarah Macharia, chaired by Véronique Michel. It begins at 17:00 CET on 3 March and participants are welcome to participate in the Q&A part of the event.

Pamela Morinière is the Head of Communications and Campaigns of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) which represents 600 000 journalists around the world. She has authored several publications on gender equality in the media, including Gender equality and media (analytical report for the Council of Europe in 2020, and Gender, Media and Elections, also for the Council of Europe (as co-author) in 2018.
Sarah Macharia is a renowned Kenyan political economist, current serving as the General Secretary of the Global Alliance on Media and Gender (GAMAG), where she champions the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action on women’s rights. Since 2007, Sarah has also been heading the Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP), the world’s only global survey covering over 100 countries and analyses tens of thousands of news stories to identify patterns and trends in gender representation and publishes a global report every five years.
