US-IUE Supports the National General Strike on 30 Oct 2026

We, the members of US-IUE, express our full solidarity with workers, students, retirees, and all other participants across Italy who adhere to the National General Strike called for Friday, 30th October 2026.

We firmly stand against war and rearmament, and share deep concerns over rising inflation, the steep increase in energy and fuel prices and falling purchasing power, as well as the unaffordability of secure housing, that directly impact us all in our daily lives.

We recognize that public sector cuts, workplace precarity, and social spending reductions affect the broader society in which we live and work. We affirm our commitment to stand alongside all social and labor movements across Italy, as collective solidarity across sectors and generations is essential to defend fundamental social rights and public services.

We encourage all union members and EUI colleagues to join us in supporting this action, whether by taking part on 30th October 2026 or spreading awareness across our community.

Uniting the voices of everyone across our community strengthens our ability to defend basic rights, a dignified life, peace, and essential public services such as health and education.
